Frequently Asked Questions.
Below are the questions families most commonly ask us. If you cannot find the answer you need, please contact us directly — we are happy to help.
What is live-in care?
Live-in care means a professional carer lives in your home and provides ongoing support throughout the day and night, allowing your loved one to remain in familiar surroundings.
How much does live-in care cost?
Our live-in care starts from €1,050 per week. You should also budget for normal household costs such as food, heating, and electricity. Overall, costs are often comparable to a care home.
Do you provide 24/7 care?
Yes. Carers live in the home and provide continuous support, with a structured daily rest break of approximately two hours.
How quickly can care be arranged?
We aim to have care in place within approximately two weeks of initial contact, depending on your needs and location.
Will we have the same carer?
We prioritise continuity. Carers typically stay for two to six weeks at a time, building a strong relationship with your loved one.
What if the carer is unavailable?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we guarantee replacement cover within 24 hours. If this cannot be met, a full week’s care fees are refunded for each 24-hour period of delay.
How do I know what care is being given?
We use the Log My Care app, which records daily activities in real time. Families can view updates on medication, meals, routines, and wellbeing at any time.
Can you visit our home before we decide?
Yes. After an initial consultation, our Care Manager will visit your home anywhere in Ireland for a full in-person assessment — free of charge and with no obligation.
What does the home assessment cover?
We assess care needs, mobility, safety, lighting, bathroom suitability, carer accommodation, and accessibility of the property.
What conditions do you support?
We support a wide range of needs including dementia, elderly care, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, MS, Huntington’s disease, learning disabilities, and end-of-life care.
What makes you different from other agencies?
We are the only provider in Ireland specialising fully in 24/7 live-in care. We offer better continuity, experienced carers, direct access to management, and a not-for-profit model.
Can we contact you directly?
Yes. You have direct access to the Care Manager at all times — day or night. We do not operate call centres.
Are your carers experienced?
Yes. We recruit only highly experienced carers and pay above-average rates to attract and retain quality professionals.
Do you help coordinate medical care?
Yes. We work closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to ensure all care needs are fully met.
What is the Fair Deal Scheme?
Fair Deal is a government scheme that helps fund nursing home care in Ireland. It currently does not extend to home-based live-in care, though we actively advocate for this to change.
Are there tax benefits for home care?
Yes. Families in Ireland may be eligible for tax relief on home care costs. We recommend speaking with Revenue or an accountant for individual guidance.
What areas do you cover?
We provide live-in care across Ireland. Please contact us to confirm availability in your area.
How are Your carers trained?
Our carers are trained to FETAC level 5 for care as minimum which includes annual carer update training in M&H, Infection Control, Food Hygiene, First Aid etc. as per HIQA standards. We only recruit the best and most experienced carers in the field.
