The Circadian Approach
Care Aligned with Natural Rhythms
The name Circadian Live-In Care reflects an important part of our approach: recognising the natural rhythms of everyday life, and the value of familiar routines.
For many older people — and particularly those living with dementia — familiar routines can offer real comfort and reassurance. Regular mealtimes, consistent daily activities, natural daylight during the day, and a calm evening routine can all help create a settled home environment.
We aim to introduce families to carers who can support these routines while respecting each person’s individual preferences, habits and way of life.
YOUR HOME ENVIRONMENT
Creating a Comfortable Home Environment
As part of our assessment, we look at practical aspects of the home that may be relevant to a successful live-in care arrangement, including:
- Natural and artificial lighting
- Ventilation and fresh air
- Heating and temperature
- The overall comfort and suitability of the living environment
- Practical aspects of the home that may support familiar daily routines
These observations help us understand the home and identify anything worth considering when introducing a suitable live-in carer.
The Circadian Approach
Beyond the Practical - Supporting Familiar Routines at Home
Good live-in care is about more than meeting practical needs — it’s about understanding the individual: their routines, preferences, personality, and the environment in which they feel most at ease.
By introducing families to carers who can become familiar with these routines, we aim to help people remain settled at home, with as much independence and continuity as possible.
